Before Your Session

Set an Intention (Optional but Helpful)
Think about what you would like to explore or focus on:
  • “I want to feel more at peace”
  • “I want to understand my emotions better”
  • “I am open to healing”
Keep your intention gentle and flexible.
Prepare Your Body
  • Eat a light meal (follow your provider’s guidelines)
  • Stay hydrated
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Avoid alcohol or substances (as instructed)
Create a Calm Mindset
  • Practice deep breathing before your session
  • Avoid stressful activities beforehand
  • Remind yourself: “I am safe. I am supported.”

During Your Session

Relax & Let Go
  • You do not need to control the experience
  • Allow thoughts and images to come and go
  • Stay curious, not judgmental
Use Gentle Grounding Techniques
  • Focus on your breath
  • Notice the music or sounds
  • Place attention on your body if needed
Visualization (Optional)
You may find it helpful to imagine:
  • A peaceful place (beach, forest, garden)
  • A feeling of safety and calm
  • Light or warmth surrounding you

After Your Session (Integration)

Reflect Gently
  • What did you notice?
  • What emotions came up?
  • Were there any meaningful insights?
Journal Your Experience
Write freely without judgment. Even small thoughts are important.
Practice Self-Care
  • Rest and hydrate
  • Spend time in a calm environment
  • Avoid overwhelming activities
Continue the Work
Healing continues after your session.
  • Practice mindfulness or breathing
  • Talk with your provider or therapist
  • Be patient with yourself
