Dr. Renuka Kharkar

Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Kharkar is a UCLA trained, board certified adult psychiatrist with a passion for the human mind. She has a degree in Neuroscience from UCLA, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, with UCLA College Honors, and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa National Honors Society. She then obtained her medical degree from the USC Keck School of Medicine, where she served in various student leadership roles. She went on to complete her residency in psychiatry at UCLA-SFV, where she served as Chief Inpatient Resident. She continues to apply her neuroscience background with psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to better understand the complexities of the human mind throughout her 10 years in clinical practice.

Dr. Kharkar’s goal as a psychiatrist is simple: to listen to you, the individual, in order to provide a unique and personal treatment plan that encompasses evidence based psychiatry with holistic care. She understands that many factors affect your mental health including your genetics, your current medical conditions, your psychological make up, your current and past social situations, and your prior experiences. She can prescribe medications as necessary, and work with you to create lifestyle changes that have a lasting impact allowing you to lead a fulfilling life.
